Dr. Nemkumar Banthia at the University of British Columbia invented a fast-acting "band aid" for bridges-fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP). FRP is basically fibres embedded in plastic. It sprays on wet, then hardens. No more stopping traffic to fix a bridge.
